Anna Karras Lancourt
Anna Karras Lancourt, 92, of Hudson,died Sunday, April 1, at Baldwin Community hospital, where she had been a patient for a week.
She was born in Hudson, April 12, 1891,the daughter of Otto and Olga Waxon.
She attended Hudson schools and was married to Joseph Karras in Hudson in 1909. He preceded her in death in 1940. Her second marriage was to Edward Lancourt, July 3, 1943, in Anoka County,Minn. Mr. Lancourt died in 1966.
Most of her life she resided in Hudson,except for five years in Canon City, Colo., and five years in Tucson, Ariz. She entered American Heritage Care Center in Hammond in September 1982.
She was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic church.
Surviving is her son, Albert Karras, of 86 Coulee Rd.; six grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
Besides her two husbands, she was preceded in death by eight brothers and sisters and a daughter, Nellie Karras,who died in 1939.
Visitation was from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9p.m. Tuesday, April 3, with a Rosary said at 7 p.m. at the Murphy Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial was at 10 a.m.Wednesday, April 4, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, with the Rev. Brian DuBois officiating Mrs. John (Elsie) Sandquist was organist and the Hope choir sang.
Interment was in St. Patrick’s cemetery.
Pall bearers were Thomas Blair, Lynn Jacobson, Jerome Karras, Joseph Karras, Richard Karras and Thomas Karras.
