Woman's Death in Car Probed
The mysterious death of a 26 year old Maplewood woman was under investigation of the Ramsey Co. sheriff's office Thursday.
The body of Mrs. Marie Krattley, 2535 Upper Afton Rd., was found by her husband, Robert, 29, in her car in their closed garage about 8:30 a.m. Thursday. The coroner's office said the death was accidental, from carbon monoxide.
The ignition key of the car was on but the gas tank was empty. Mrs. Krattley was lying on the front seat with two pillows and a blanket. In the back seat was an alarm clock set to ring at 6 a.m., when she normally arises for work.
The husband told authorities he arrived at home between 10 and 11 p.m. Thursday. His wife was not there, he said.
He went to bed and when he arose the next morning, relatives said, he noticed the car in the garage.
Authorities said they were investigating the possibility the woman had decided to sleep in the car, and kept the motor running for warmth.
Mr. and Mrs. Krattley are former Hudson residents.
