Mrs. Selma Dahlen, Former Resident, Passes at 71
Mrs. Selma Dahlen, age 71, passed away Sept. 30 at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Clarence Williams, in Rochester after a six month illness. Funeral services were held Oct. 3 at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Rochester, with the Rev. Norbert A. Augst officiating. Burial was in the Oakwood Cemetery at Rochester.
Pallbearers were Jeffrey Ersbo, William Ersbo, Gary Williams, Earl Erickson and Wayne Ersbo. Honorary pallbearers were Terry Harlan and Roger Schwartz.
Mrs. Dahlin was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Nels Person of Seward in Grass Lake township. She was born Jan. 24, 1896 at Lakeland, Minn. and moved as a child to Grass Lake township, attending the Seward school. She was the widow of Charles J. Dahlen, a mail carrier on route 2, Braham.
Survivors are two daughters, Mrs. Williams of Rochester and Mrs. William Ersbo of Minneapolis; a son, Duane Harlan of Green Bay, Wis.; six grandchildren; three brothers, Alfred and Andrew of Grass Lake township and Algot of Minneapolis; and five sisters, Mrs. Olga Wiener, Mrs. Emma Erickson, Mrs. Ted (Hulda) Schwartz and Nina Pearson, all of St. Paul and Mrs. Leol Hammer (Gladys) of Grass Lake township. All the brothers and sisters attended the funeral.
