Mrs. Martha Crosby, widow of the late E. F. Crosby, in his time county assesor of Custer county, died at 5:10 last Wednesday afternoon, after three years illness. Mr. Crosby died five years ago, falling dead in a business house in Miles City. An attack of flu caused Mrs. Crosby's death. She had been a patient at Darcy hospital in Miles City during her years of invalidism. She was 73.
Mrs. Crosby is survived by eight children. Emmett Crosby is in the taxi business in Miles City, H. H. and W. A. Crosby reside at Crow Agency, Big Horn County. Mont Crosby is a resident of Grant's Pass, Oregon; C. T. Crosby is a Mizpah rancher; Mrs. Bessie Taylor loves in Chicago; Mrs. Harry King, Missoula; and Mrs. L. D. Brown in Concord, N.H.
Michigan was the birthplace of Mrs. Crosby and she and her husband were married in Dunn county, Wis. They came to Dakota 49 years ago and in 1890 migrated to the Powder River country and took up ranching. Mrs. Crosby was elected county assesor and held the office two terms.
