He died of spotted fever on the Oliver Tinsley Ranch about 18 miles south of Hysham after being ill about nine days. He was last seen alive about 2 P.M. and was found dead at 6 P.M. that evening. He is buried in the Forsyth cemetery in an unmarked grave (E1/2 Lot 8 Blk. 10 Sect M Orig).
