John E. Anderson and Pearl Jerred were united in marriage at the home of Rev.
and Mrs. W.W. Landis Sunday evening, November 25th, the ceremony being
performed by Mr. Landis. The wedding was a quiet one. Mr. and Mrs. Anderson
have a great many friends in this section of the country who extend the most
hearty congratulations and best wishes for a long and prosperous married life.
They will reside on Mr. Anderson's homestead five miles northwest of Jordan.

Services Held For Elmer Anderson
John Elmer Anderson, 96, of Jordan, died Saturday at the Garfield County
Hospital where he had been a patient for several years.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, December 12, at the
Community Presbyterian Church in Jordan, with the Rev. David Eekhoff
officiating. Burial was in the Pioneer Cemetery at Jordan. Music was under
the direction of Mrs. Laura Patterson as organist with Susan Stanton and Terry
Schmidt singing in duet, "The Old RuggedCross," and "In The Sweet By and By."
Pallbearers were Ernest Fogle, Philip Fellman, Harold Hageman, Charles Jessen,
Elmer Pangburn and Geo. Hensleigh. Honorary pallbearers were: Jim Viall, James
Ryan, Herman Rogge, Sterling Wille, Marlowe Ewy and Watson Foster. Graves
Funeral Home of Miles City was in charge of arrangements.
Mr. John Elmer Anderson was born in Stockholm, Sweden, Aug. 2, 1872, and came
to Crawford, Nebraska at the age of 9. He moved to the Jordan area in about
1912. He engaged in the freighting business from Jordan to Miles City,
Billings, and other areas with 12 horse teams for many years. He also ranched
at this time on Vail Creek and sold out in 1930 when he went into coal mining.
He retired in 1950.
He married Pearl C. Whitney on November 25th, 1917, in Jordan. Born to this
union were 13 children. One of them, John Elmer, Jr., preceeded him in death
just three weeks ago as the result of injuries received in a hunting accident
near Deer Lodge, Montana.
Survivors include seven daughters, Mrs. Ruth Trumbo of Jordan, Mrs. Charolotte
Sweet of Anaconda, Mrs. May June McDowell of Lost Creek, Mont., Mrs. Mary Brown
of Portland, Oregon, Mrs. Herb Bluhm of Gaston, Oregon, Mrs. Carolyn Royland of
Missoula, Mrs. Elma Williams of Yelm, Washington; five sons, Alfred, Lewis,
Walter and Tago all of Anaconda, and Raymond of Beaverton, Oregon. There are
43 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.
