John Gustaf Forsberg Dies
John Gustaf Forsberg was born in Grums Parish, Varmland, Sweden, on February
10, 1861. He came to this country in company with his parents, one brother and
three sisters in 1873. He was confirmed at Fish Lake in 1876 by Rev. Brink.
In 1889 he was united in marriage with Hannah Olson. This marriage was blessed
with three children. In 1913 his wife passed away and in 1917 he married
Augusta Swenson.
He served as deacon in the Fish Lake church for several years. They made their
home at Fish Lake the greater part of this time, though the last four years
they resided in Minneapolis.
The first of November of this year they moved to Minneapolis and located at
1731 Park Avenue. On the evening of November 20th when crossing Park Avenue at
19th Street, Mr. Forsberg was struck by a speeding car and critically injured,
suffering a broken leg and some head injuries. He lingered until Wednesday
morning, November 25, in a subconscious condition, reaching the age of 81
years, 9 months and 15 days.
Mr. Forsberg is mourned by his wife and three children, Rudolph W. Forsberg,
Ernest E. Forsberg, and Ruth, now Mrs. A. E. Sciter, and one grandson, John
Forsberg.
His brother, Henry O. Forsberg, (23Mar1863-7May1913), is also buried at Fish
Lake.
