(1995) I was in the Navy from August 1946 to August 1949. I then worked for
Standard Oil for about a year before taking an apprenticeship in the shipyard
at Bremerton for four years, graduating as a marine machinist.

All together I worked for the Navy in a civil service job as a machinist for
thirty-two and a half years (plus my Navy time). I retired on September 2,
1983 and have done some traveling since.

I sold the folks farm after Mom died in April 1988.
