ENOCH COLLINS DIES IN CALIFORNIA, LEFT HARRIS LAST FALL
Enoch E. Collins, a former resident of Harris, Minnesota, passed away
suddenly March 11, at Simi, California, of a heart attack after an illness of
only five weeks.
At his passing he had reached the age of 65 years, 1 month and 18 days. He
was born January 24, 1893, at Superior, Wisconsin. He moved to Harris, at the
age of 12, with his parents and brothers and sisters. He was united in
marriage to Belle Hawkinson of Harris, on December 7, 1915 and they resided on
a farm one mile west of Harris for 42 years. They moved to Simi, California, to
reside with their married daughter, just five months ago.
He was a veteran of World War I and was a member of the American Legin Post
139 at Harris.
Besides his wife Belle, he is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Alfred Fahrian,
and three grandchildren, Michael, Richard and Sandra, of Simi, California,
three sisters, a twin sister Mrs. Orrin Custer (Lydia) of Center City, Mrs.
Lawrence Stark (Marie) and Mrs. John Weiseth (Esther), and a brother David of
Toronto, Canada, and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceeded in death by his parents and one brother, Frederick.
Funeral services were conducted March 15 from Griffin Funeral Chapel in
Camarillo, with the Reverend Jobson presiding. Interment was in Ivy Lawn
cemetery, in Ventura, California.

Enoch's twin sister, Lydia Custer (24Jan1893-1965), and her husband, Orrin O.
Custer (1895-1960), are both buried in Oak Grove Cemetery, Harris, Minnesota.
Fred Collins (1890-1949) and his wife, Dora Stark,
(10Jun1898-24Jul1941), are both buried in the Harris Covenant Cemetery, Harris,
Minnesota. Dora Stark was the daughter of John Alexander Stark
(18Jan1860-11Jun1942) and Ida M. Nelson (1868-1957), both of whom are buried in
Harris Covenant Cemetery.
