I,Richd Edelen Sr of CC, gent, for the natural love I have for mysister-in-law, Mrs. Eliza Neale, wife to Mr. James Neale Sr of CC, andfor divers Qther good causes, I give Eliza Neale 4 Negroes, by name,Judith, Natt, Dick, and Frank, and their increase, during the naturallife'of sd Eliza Neale, and after her death, if Eliza Neale should diewithout a will in writing, sd Negroes and their increase shall beequally divided between the 2 youngest sons & the 2 youngestdaughters of the abovesd James Neale Sr, husband to the sd Eliza.Further, if any of the abovesd sons and daughters of sd James Nealeshould die before the division, then that part shall be equally dividedamong the survivors. I, Edward Cole the Younger of St Mary's County, Gent, acknowledgemyself to be indebted to my father-in-law, James Neale Sr, in the sumof 50,000 lbs of tobacco in cask, acknowledge to have received of my sdfather-in-law, satisfaction for the same, and for the true performancehereof, I bind myself this [blank]. The condition of this obligation isthat if sd Edward Cole the younger sues for or concerning some legaciesgiven to my children by a deed of gift or other ways, some Negroes Ihave since given by my will to his my wife & to the rest of mychildren, that then this obligation to be in full force, otherwise tobe void.
