MARY WHEELER (1658-)
Mary Wheeler was born 22 March 1658 in Charles County, Maryland, the daughter of John and Mary Wheeler. She married Robert Middleton, by 1673. He was a member of the Church of England, and a member of the vestry of St John 's Parish. She was a Roman Catholic. On 1 July 1681, Robert Middleton was commissioned a Coronet in the Company of captain Randolph Brandt (Archives of Maryland, V. 15, p. 385). On 21 July 1681, he made a deposition stating that he was about 30 years of age. (Arch. of Maryland, V. 15, p. 403). He owned a plantation in Prince George's County, Maryland after that county was formed in 1696. On 20 January 1693 John Wheeler of Charles County, Maryland, gentleman deeded to Robert Middleton "for fatherly love he hath toward Mary the wife of the said Robert Middleton a tract (of land) called Wheeler's Hope, 385 acres." (DB-L, No. 1, Folio 52). Robert Middleton died intestate in 1707. He and Mary had at least the following children:

Thomas Middleton 1745 Maryland. Penelope Hatton
