About the only thing I can contribute to your note was that Edward Brawner, Sr.'s will dated 9/15/1766-1/3/1767, Charles Co., named his Executor as his daughter, Abagail. I could find no record of his administration accounts which showed her as Abagail Brawner and/or Abagail Haislip. Edward Brawner, Jr. (the son) is the one who m. Elizabeth Wheeler.

There is one Brawner I didn't mention in my reply and I shouldn't be like the old genealogists and forget the women. Abigail Brawner, daughter of Edward Brawner, the elder. In his 1766 will, he mentions both Elizabeth Nalley and Elizabeth Grant by married name but names his daughter Abigail. In addition, Mary (Brock) Brawner leaves personality to "my grandaughter", Abigail Broner, daughter of "my son" Edward, in a will written 14 Nov 1727. (I only have a transcription of this will--not complete wording so I don't know what "personalty" was bequeathed.)
This Abigail is usually the one given as married to John Edgar Wade. The Wades are another ancestral line of mine. According to my information, John Edgar Wade was born 16 Nov 1735 in Prince George's County, MD. I don't think Mary (Brock) Brawner would have left personalty to a newborn, so assuming Abigail already had a few years in 1727, that makes her considerably older than John Edgar Wade. I think it more likely that Abigail who married John Wade was the daughter of one of the other Brawners--possibly John and Mary (Dunning/Downing) Brawner. I rule out Edward the younger as her father, because in his 1760 will, he states that "I give likewise each of my Daughters one feather bed and one hefier to be given them at the age of sixteen", meaning his daughters were born after 1744 which means she would have been 10 years old at the oldest when John Edgar Wade got married. In addition, the Wades were staunch Protestants and the "Edward the younger" family of Brawners were staunch Catholics.
Does anyone else have good candidates for the parents of this Abigail?
