MARYLAND WILL BOOK 5 Page 95 et seq: "Odem Die: In the name of God amen: I Henry Barnes Being prest for the Service Upon the Indians, being in health and of perfect memory, [do recordanie?] this my Last will and testimony. First I bequeath my soule to all might God, my maker and Redeemer, hoping by his merits to have Salvation-next my Body to the earth to have a Christianlike Buriall:
Imprimus I give and Bequeath to Mathew Barnes my Sonne the old dunne mair the first foale that She begets I give unto my Sonne Thomas Coffer, and as to all her future Increase to the aforesaid Mathew Barnes and his heirs for Ever likewise I give unto my Sonne mathew Barnes one heiffer of three yeares old bearing the marke of Thomas Crnson with all her future increase to him and his heires for ever.
Likewise I give to my Sonne Thomas Coffer a Red pyed heffer with all her future increase to him and his heires for Ever.
Item I give and bequeath to my daughter Christian Barnes the filly foale that now Sucks the old dunne mare and one brown Cow going by the name of Lovely with all theyr future increase, to her and her heires forever.
Item I give to my Sonne francis Coffer a Sorrell mare of a yeare old and a Black Cow with a Starre on her forehead, going by the name of Starr and they and theyr future Increase, to him and his heires for ever.
Item I give and Bequeath to my Sonne John Coffer one young horse of three yeares old and one branded Cowe going by the name of homesly She and all her future increase to him and his heirs forever, and further I give to Edmond Barnes at the end of his Servitude wc will be in the year 1678 one Cowe Calfe with her future Increase to him and his heires forever and he to be ffree in the month of October
and further I make my well beloved wife Sarah Barnes my whole and Sole extx and adm of this my last will and testament and appoint Robert Robins and Charles Calles overseers of this my last will, as wittness my hand and Seale this 29th of Octob 1675. henry (his H marke) Barnes [Seal]
