To my son-in-law William Leigh & my dau. Leigh, for life, St. Barnards, which I live on, except the part on the other side of the swamp adj. Wm. Mathews.
To my grddau. Dorothy Leigh, sd. land, but if my dau. Suffiah have a son by sd. Wm. Leigh, sd. land to him, but if she not have an heir that lives to maturity, sd. land to my grdson Joseph Taney; I also give [to my grddau. Dorothy ?], negro boy Charles, s. o. Monica.
My grdson John Brooke may be paid what is due him from his father's e. in negro kind out of my negroes in Calvert Co. (except negro Charles & negro Jak), provided he live to age 21 & return to this country not in holy orders.
To my son Joseph Doyne, for life yearly, L 3.10 sterl.
To my grddau. Ann Mattingly if she live to age 16, negro girl Agnes.
To my grddau. Dorothy Mattingly if she live to age 16, negro boy Sam.
To my dau. Jane Taney, all she owes me.
To my grddau. Dorothy Leigh, negro girl Philis.
To my grdson Thomas Taney, negro girl Sal, d. o. Monica.
To my dau. Ann Brook, a cow & calf.
Extr: sd. son-in-law William Leigh.

To son-in-law William Leigh, and dau. Leigh, tract of land I now live on, during their lives, called St Barnard's, reserving adjoining land of Wm. Mathews.
To grand-dau. Dorothy Leigh, land I now live on called St Barnard's, in case dau. Suffiah never have a son by son-in-law Wm. Leigh, but if she shd. have, I bequeath all land to that son, but If she shd. not have an hrs. then above lands to grand-son Joseph Taney.
To son Monica, slave.
To grand-son John Brooke, payment of his pt. of estate due from his father's estate, is to say in slaves due him out of my slaves, that I have in Calvert Co.; balance that remains of slaves of mine in Calvert Co., which sd. gift I give on these conditions: that if he arrives to the age of 21 and comes back to this country, and not in Holy Orders.
To son Joseph Doyne, 3 #. 10 s. sterl. money.
To grand-dau. Ann Mattingly, if she lives to age 16, some slaves; Wm. Leigh and his wife having the use of this slave till Ann Mattingly arrives at age 16.
To grand-dau. Dorothy Mattingly, when she arrives at age 16, some slaves.
To dau. Jane Taney, the debts she owes me.
To grand-dau. Dorothy Leigh, some slaves.
To grand-son Thomas Taney, slaves.
To dau. Ann Brook, some cattle.
Remainder of personalty to dau. Suffiah Leigh.
Grand-son Joseph Taney, to become hr. to my land St Barnard.

Next of kin: Mary Semmes, Sarah Doyne.
Executor: William Leigh.

Mary Semmes was his nephew Robert's daughter. Sarah Doyne was his niece, she was Joshua's daughter.

Page 265. At the request of Mr. Igna Doyne of CC, the following deed [of gift] was recorded this Oct 15, 1731.
I, Jane Doyne of St Mary's County, widow, for the motherly love I have for my son, Igna Doyne of CC and for divers other good causes, I give him all that parcel of land in CC, commonly called St Bernard, bounded by the mouth of a little creek called St Bernards Cr, and running north by the river side [unnamed], the land of Lucas Mathews formerly Cockshuts, containing about 200 acres. Signed Sep 22, [no year stated] - Jane Doyne. Wit - Geo Dent*, Thos Thompson, Susanna Mathews. This deed was acknowledged by Mrs. Jane Doyne.
