SAMUEL HANSON, son of Col. John Hanson, represented Charles Co. in the Legislature of Maryland in the sessions of 1716 and 1728, was the Commissary of Charles Co. in 1734, and Clerk of the same in 1739.
SAMUEL HANSON was buried at Equality, an estate then owned by his son-in-law, David Stone, "the inheritor of Paynton Manor, with Court Leet and Court Baron," a lineal descendant and representative of Governor William Stone, and the great-grandfather of the Hon. Frederick Stone, of Port Tobacco, MD.

Mar 14, 1722. Saml Hanson of CC, gent, for 10,000 lbs of tobacco, sells to John Adams of CC, planter (in his actual possession now being), all that tract of land lying in CC called Tryal, and bounded by a bounded hickory near the plantation of Thomas Coleman, being the beginning tree of a tract of land called Nottingham now in the possession of capt Leonard Holeyday, containing and laid out for about 300 acres. Also, all that tract of land adjoining to the afd tract, called Addition, bounded by Nottingham, Tryal, containing about 10 acres. Signed - Sam Hanson. Wit A Contee, Thomas Howard, Robt Hanson*, Jso.
