Page 115. At the request of Thomas Swann Jr, the following depositions were recorded this Feb 21, 1723.
The deposition of Samuel Swann, aged 47 years or thereabouts, concerning a bounded poplar, a bounded tree of a tract of land called Eaglton, lying in CC upon some of the branches of Piles Fresh. This deponent declares that about 30 years last past, this deponent was in the woods with his brother, Thomas Swann Sr, & he showed him a bounded poplar standing by the side of a small branch near the head of sd branch (where this deponent now is) & told him it was one of the bound trees of their father's land & his father showed it to him.
