Nov 14, 1767 from John Hanson Sr of CC, Gentlemen, to Henry Massey Hanson, son of sd John Hanson, for the natural love sd John has for his son, Henry Massey Hanson, and for 50 £ and for divers other good considerations, a tract of land in CC called the Second amendment, containing, according to certificate thereof, for about 546 acres. Sd John Hanson, by deed dated Nov 14, 1767, made over to sd Henry Massey Hanson, a tract of land in CC called the Second Amendment, according to the certificate thereof, 546 acres, by which deed he intended to make over to Henry all the lands I hold or have a right to, by virtue of my decd's father, John Hanson's will, but now being apprehensive that some part of the afd lands are not included within the sd deed, have therefore, for the natural love that I have for sd Henry and for 5 shillings and for divers other causes, I have granted sd Henry a tract of land called Hansons Amendment, which is not included within the lines of the afd tract called the Second Amendment, and all the other lands I hold which adjoin either of the before mentioned tracts. Charles County Land Records 1786-1790; Liber D#4; Page 441. instrument of Writing, recorded at the request of Charles Mankin & Henry Massey Hanson, We, Charles Mankin and Henry Massey Hanson of CC, for quieting our possession in certain tracts of land, to wit, Moores Hope, part of Partnership and Good Luck, in the possession of sd Mankin, and Newport, Hanson's Amendment, and Hanson's Second Amendment, in the possession of the sd Hanson, by these presents agree to the following lines of division between the sd lands, beginning at 2 stones on a hill, sd to be placed in the line of Goodrich's 600 acres, and running thence N 60 degrees 39 perches to a large white oak standing on the bank of a Run, thence N 69.75 degrees E 52 perches to a marked ash, thence N 1 degree E 53 perches to another marked ash, thence N 15 degrees W 18 perches to a maple, thence N 5-1/4 degrees W 14 perches to a small gum, thence N 18-1/2 degrees £ 19 perches to a beech, thence N 8-1/2 degrees E 17 perches to a gum standing by the Run side, thence N 21.75 degrees E 17 perches to another gun, thence N 7.75 degrees E 32 perches to a stake now fixed, thence N 85 degrees W 13 perches to a bounded beech by the side of a run, thence N 81-1/4 degrees W 21 perches to a forked hickory. In witness that the above described lines shall forever be the division between them, for the purpose of quieting possession, the parties have hereunto affixed their hands and seals. Charles County Land Records 1790-1792; Liber K#4; Page 366. Ordered by Michael Jenifer Stone, Esq, Chief Justice of CC Court, that the following bond be recorded. We, James Simms, John Campbell, Henry Massey Hanson, and William Barton Smoot, son of Thomas, all of CC, bind ourselves to the State of Maryland in the sum of 3500 £, this Nov 29, 1791, to warrant that sd James Simms, Collector of CC for the present year, shall faithfully execute his office. Wit - Jno B. Turner, John Barnes. This deed was acknowledged by John Beale Turner and John Barnes Jr, the 2 witnesses, before M,J, Stone, Chief Justice of CC Court.I hereby appoint James Simms, Esq, High Sheriff of CC, to collect the Levy of CC for this year.
