Gwynedd Meeting records a double wedding at house of Jonas Potts, his daughs. Rachel and Elizabeth. Among Friends, it was customary in signing marriage certificates, for those, who were near of kin to the contracfting parties, to sign together in the right hand column. Those who signed as witnesses, in the place for relatives, in this instance were Jonas Potts, Mary Potts, David Potts, Thomas Potts, John Potts, Thomas Potts, Rees Potts, Mary, Mary Potts, and Hannah Potts.
"On 8 mo. 15, 1719, a double wedding took place at the house of Jonas Potts, at which two of his daughters were married. In one of the Certificates, Jonas Potts is said to be of Gilberts Manor, and in the other, of Perqueoman Creek. It is said that after the festivities of this double wedding, the newly married young couples left for their respective homes on horseback, each bride mounted behind her husband."
