In 1740 he sells land in Kingston (Palmer) Mass.Event
He was probably the Doolittle who moved south and was the father of adventurous Doolittles whose lines ended up in SC, MS and TX. He probably moved from NY to PA to GA and then to SC. A Joseph Doolittle was taxed in the Beekman Patent, NY, Feb 1741 through Feb 1744 at a 1L assessment.Supporting Evidence;
"THIS INDENTURE, made this 28th day of June in the year of out Lord One Thousand seven hundred and sixty nine, between Joseph Doolittle of Tyron County and Province of NC, and Hezekiah Pigg, of the County and Province aforesaid.
WITNESSETH: That the said Joseph Doolittle for and in consideration of 59 pounds, like money of hte said Province, to him in hand paid by the said Hezekiah Pigg, and receipt whereof the said Joseph Doolittle doth hereby acknowledge the said Joseph Doolittle, hath bargained and sold, aliened and confirm unto the said Hezekiah Pigg his heir and assigns forever, all that messuage or tenement of land situate and lying in the County of Tyron and Province aforesaid on both sides of Doolittle Creek, signed by Joseph Doolittle; X. witnessed, NC, Tyron County, July 1770."
