Death

Ruth Elizabeth Rexrode Furr of Waynesboro, VA, died January 29, 1998, at Augusta Medical Center. Born in Pendleton County, she was the daughter of Tilman Floyd and Sarah Catherine Simmons Rexrode. Mrs. Furr was retired from Crompton after 35 years of service. Surviving are her husband, James Edward Furr; a son, James Franklin Furr; a daughter, Sara Furr Snelson. Of Laurel, MD; a sister, Mary Eva Eye of Harrisonburg, VA; four grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; and a number of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one sister, Lena Rexrode Harper, and her brother, Ralph Rexrode. Funeral services were held 2 p.m. Sunday at the First Baptist Church, Waynesboro, VA, with the Rev. William G. Wilson officiating. Burial was in the Riverview Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Waynesboro First Aid Crew, PO Box 1427, Waynesboro, VA, or to the charity of choice.
