Marriage

Mr. and Mrs. William H. Furr celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary Thursday.William and the former Stella Hughes were married March 2 at Covington.

Death

Stella A. Furr, 80, Crawfordsville and formerly of Waynetown, died at 10:20 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 28, 2009 at Williamsburg Nursing Home, Crawfordsville. Born Feb. 24, 1928 in Waynetown, she was the daughter of the late George and Gladys (Ammerman) Hughes. She married William "Bill" H. Furr on March 2, 1946 at Covington. He survives. During her marriage, Mrs. Furr lived in Waynetown from 1950 until 2005. Also surviving, are: a son, Dennis (Paula) Furr of Crawfordsville; a daughter, Dawn Welker of Memphis, Tenn.; two grandsons, Andrew Welker of San Francisco, Calif. and Garret Million of Crawfordsville and a grand-daughter, Andrea Million of Ladoga. She was also preceded in death by two sisters and an infant brother. A graduate of Attica High School, she had also attended school in Hillsboro. Mrs. Furr was a member Waynetown Christian Church. She was a homemaker and school cook at Sommer Elementary School in Montgomery County, Visitationwas Saturday at Shoemaker Funeral Home, Waynetown prior to service with Rev. Dorman Winger officiating. Cremation followed the services and a private family burial of the ashes will take place at a later date.
