Clarke Courier (Berryville, Va) January 24, 1924WILLIAM MARUS
Mr. William Marcus, aged 70 years, died last Friday afternoon after an illness of five days from pneumonia at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Bennie Marcus on the farm of Mr. Mason Osborne, about three miles east of Berryville. The funeral services were conducted on Sunday afternoon at the home at one o'clock pm., the Rev. L.L. Lowance, officiating. Burial was made in the Green Hill Cemetery.
Mr. Marcus was a native of Loudoun County and spent most of his life in the neighborhood of Round Hill. He had been a resident of Clarke County before, and returned here to be with his daughter last April. His wife died about twenty-three years ago.
Mr. Marcus is survived by two sons and two daughters; Messrs. John Marcus of Washington, and Willie Marcus of near Round Hill, VA., and Miss Mila Marcus and Mrs. Bennie Marcus at home. There are also two brothers, Messrs. John Marcus, of Ashburn, Loudoun County, and James Marcus of near Berryville, and nephew, Mr. Cleveland Furr of Washington.
Those who came from out of town for the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. John Marus of Washington, Mr. Furr of Washington, Mr. Willie Marcus of Round Hill, and Mrs. John Marcus of Ashburn, Va.
