Death
NEW OXFORD Marion I. (Shultz) Furr, 82, passed away on March 20, 2015 at Cross Keys Village at the Brethren Home Community in New Oxford. She was the loving wife of Robert N. Furr, who passed away in 2007. Marion was born in Hanover on April 15, 1932 and was the daughter of the late Harry and Mary (Runk) Shultz. She attended Hanover High School and was a member of Hanover First Church of God for many years. She worked for Hanover Industries for over 26 years, Hanover Shoe for over 10 years and Hanover Paper Box factory. She enjoyed baking and cherished the time she spent with her family. Marion is survived by her sons, Rodney Laughman and wife, Sandy of Hanover, Greg Furr and wife, Jackie of Frederica Del., Robert Furr Jr. and wife, Faye of Hanover, Karl Furr and wife, Amy of Hanover and Jeff Furr and wife, Tami of Hanover. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren; nine great- grandchildren; her brother, Nevin Shultz; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister, Betty Wildasin; and her brothers, Sterling, Robert and Donald Shultz. A funeral service in celebration of her life will be held on Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Irwin-Beck Funeral Home & Cremation Service Inc., 175 N Main St., Spring Grove, with the Rev. Dan Thomas officiating. She will be laid to rest next to her husband following the service at Mummerts Meetinghouse Cemetery in East Berlin. A viewing will be held on Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. and on Tuesday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to Hanover First Church of God, 600 Fairview Dr., Hanover PA 17331.
