Dorothy Virginia Mowery Furr, 90, of Middletown, died Wednesday, Oct. 18, 2006, at Rose Hill Nursing Home, Berryville. Mrs. Furr was born June 17, 1916, in Middletown, the daughter of Wilbur Cornelius and Emma Pearl Willey Mowery. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Middletown. She was married to Richard William Furr. Surviving are a daughter, Barbara J. “Vardy” Hinkle of Middletown; a son, William B. “Billy” Furr of Middletown; five grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. A funeral will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Grace United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Anne Hough officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Middletown. Pallbearers will be Thomas Shull, Tommy Furr, Ronnie Loomis, James Thompson, Kenneth Graham, and John Layton. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Stover Funeral Home, Strasburg. Memorials may be made to Grace United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 61, Middletown 22645.
