Death

Sara Catherine Miley Furr, 95, of Winchester, Va. passed away Oct. 30th, 2018 in Winchester Medical Center peacefully with her loved ones near and in her heart as always. Sara was born March 27th, 1923 in Loudoun County, the daughter of Douglas and Ida Miley. Wife to Wilbur Furr married Dec. 24th, 1940, who preceded her in death, and mother to Wilbur Furr Jr. and Margarette Woods, who preceded her in death. She is survived by Robert Furr and wife Carol, Nancy and husband Harold Whitacre, grandchildren Mark and Edwina Woods, Doris and Kenny Milbourne, Russell Furr, Matthew Woods, Gregory and Tammy Furr (yes-you too Natalie!), 10 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren. Sara was a lifetime member of the Unison United Methodist Church, devoted to her faith, family, and lived life to its greatest protentional despite life's hard knocks. Her motto was always "Life goes on" and gave all the credit to her God for getting her through (He also made her a fantastic cook!). Visitation will be Sunday Nov. 4th from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Unison United Methodist Church in Unison, Va. Her funeral service will be part of the Sunday Service from 11 a.m. to 12 noon. Dr. Donald Ferris-McCann will officiate. Burial will be Monday Nov. 5th at 11 a.m graveside at Ebenezer Cemetery, Bluemont, Va. All arrangements handled by Halls Funeral Home in Purcellville, Va.
