Death
The funeral for Mrs. Icie Huff Diehl, 74, will be conducted at Pleasant Valley Church of the Brethren at Weyers Cave by the Rev. Robert Houff and the Rev. Paul Fike. Burial will be in the adjacent cemetery. The body is at the Lindsey Harrisonburg Funeral Home where the family will receive friends 7:30-8:30 p.m. today. Relatives will meet at the home of her son, Leon Diehl, near Mt. Sidney 1:40 p.m. Thursday. Grandsons, who will serve as pallbearers are Michael, Steven, Ronald, Wayne and Donald Diehl and Gary and Steve Crosby. Mrs. Diehl was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Huff and was born June 9, 1894 at Ft. Defiance and was reared at Weyers Cave. In July 1915 she married Earl C. Diehl, who died Sept 18, 1958. Following their marriage Mr. and Mrs. Diehl lived in Weyers Cave and in Hershey, Pa before moving to Harrisonburg 21 years ago. Mrs. Diehl was a member of Harrisonburg Church of the Brethren and the Mary Martha Sunday School Class of the Church. She also was a member of the Golden Age Club. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. G. W. Crosby of Staunton; five sons, Leon H. Diehl of Mt. Sidney, Dallas C. Diehl of Sykesville, Md., I. W. Diehl of Timberville and Donald S. Diehl and Earl C. Diehl Jr., both of Silver Spring, Md.; 18 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and two sisters, Mrs. Fern Meyerhoeffer of Dayton and Mrs. Elsie Click of Mt. Propst, Ill. Mrs. Diehl died Monday at Rockingham Memorial Hospital, where she had been a patient since Thursday. She had not been well for a year.Harrisonburg Daily News-Record, June 11, 1968
