Death

CHARLOTTE - Rena S. Carrier, 91, died Monday, April 29, 2013, at Cardinal Health Care Center in Lincolnton. A daughter of the late Arthur Stepp and Anna Marie Holsinger Stepp, she was born in Harrisonburg, VA on January 23, 1922. She was a member of Oak Grove United Methodist Church for fifty eight years. A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, May 4th at Oak Grove United Methodist Church in Charlotte, with Rev. Harry Queen officiating. The family will receive friends following the memorial service. Mrs. Carrier is survived by two daughters, Pat Reilly and husband Pat, of Charlotte, Susan Carrier of Charlotte; three sons, Wayne Furr, of Patchogue, NY, Lonnie Carrier and wife Joan, of Mt. Holly, Richard Carrier and wife Pat, of Virginia; twelve grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Carrier was preceded in death by her husband of forty nine years, Richard W. Carrier and a daughter, Sandra C. Wilson. Memorials may be made to Oak Grove United Methodist Church, 6440 Old Statesville Road, Charlotte, NC 28269 or Shriners Hospital for Children, 950 West Faris Road, Greenville, SC 29605. The Derita Chapel of McEwen Funeral Service is serving the Carrier family.
