Death
Lonnie J. Furr died in the service of his country while serving in A Company, 2nd Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment. Died while in training in the crash of a Lockheed C-130H Hercules. "Seven men were killed but 61 others survived when a C-130 cargo plan crash-landed about one mile north of what was then Indian Springs Air Force Base. The plane was participating in a joint Army-Air Force night training mission."Endnotes
