Death

Mary Elvira Furr, 90, of Hertford, N.C., formerly of La Plata, died June 10, 2004, at Winslow Memorial Nursing Home in North Carolina. She was a Willmark professional shopper. Born June 28, 1913, in Washington, D.C., she was the daughter of the late Anthony DiToto and the late Loretta DiToto. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Phillip Furr; brothers, Adolph and Joseph DiToto; and sisters, Rose Furr and Anne Furr. She is survived by her nieces and nephews, Lewis and Marilyn Furr, Adolph DiToto, Emil DiToto, Caroline Bradford, Anthony DiToto and Virginia McDonald. Mass was celebrated June 14 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, La Plata. The Rev. Robert Costi officiated. Burial took place at Washington National Cemetery, Suitland. Arrangements were handled by Arehart-Echols Funeral Home, La Plata.

Family will receive friends on Sunday, June 13, at the AREHART-ECHOLS FUNERAL HOME, P.A., 211 St. Mary's Ave., LaPlata, MD from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. with prayers at 7:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial on Monday, June 14, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in LaPlata, MD at 11 a.m. Interment will be held at Washington National Cemetery in Suitland, MD at 1 p.m.
