Death
HARRISONBURG — Sally Marie Furr, 83, of Harrisonburg, passed away on Sunday, Oct. 24, 2010, at Rockingham Memorial Hospital. She was born in Rockingham County on Sept. 10, 1927, and was a daughter of the late Martin Lee and Martha Irene (Webb) Moyers. Sally was a hairdresser and retired in 1998 from Sally's Beauty Salon. She was a member of Mount Olive Presbyterian Church. She graduated from Mount Clinton High School. She was united in marriage on April 2, 1945, to Athel B. "Sonny" Furr, of Harrisonburg, who survives. Surviving in addition to her husband is a daughter, Pam Collins, and husband, Randy, of Mount Crawford; three sisters, Shirley E. Lilly of Hinton, Margie M. Roller of Bridgewater and Lucille M. Pennington of Dayton. She is also survived by three grandchildren, Joshua Randolph Collins and wife, Corri, Daniel Jordan Collins and Lourdes Fernandez; and four great-grandchildren, Caleb Collins, Cameran Collins, Taylor Poulton and Charlie Poulton. A funeral service will be held at Mount Olive Presbyterian Church in Hinton at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 28, 2010 with the Rev. George Evans officiating. Burial will follow at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens in Harrisonburg. The family will receive friends at Mount Olive Presbyterian Church on Wednesday, Oct. 27, 2010, from 6 to 8 p.m. or anytime at the home of Pam and Randy Collins, 1299 N. River Road, Mount Crawford.
