Death

Katherine Rita Breeden Furr, 89, formerly of Ranson, WV, entered peacefully into rest with her family by her side on Thursday, November 20th, at Citizens Care and Rehabilitation Center, Frederick. She was the loving wife of the late Lyle L. Furr who died August 6, 1982. Born on July 4, 1925, in Charles Town, she was the daughter of the late George L. Breeden and Clurinda (Buracker) Breeden. Mrs. Furr was of the Baptist faith. She was known to many in the community as "Miss Kitty". She worked at the Stuck and Alger Pharmacy in Charles Town for 52 years and 30 plus years at the Melvin T. Strider Colonial Funeral Home in Ranson as a Hairdresser. Surviving are one son, Lyle K. Furr and husband Grayson Ramsburg, Middletown, MD and numerous nieces and nephews. Mrs. Furr was preceded in death by four sisters, Myrtle Rickard, Edna Hough, Nora Hummer and Barbara Rickard, five brothers, Julian Breeden, Lee Breeden, George Breeden, Elwood Breeden and Roy Breeden. She is the last remaining of eleven siblings. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 26, 2014 at the Melvin T. Strider Colonial Funeral Home, 310 S. Fairfax Blvd., Ranson, WV with the Rev. Philip Curran of Glade United Church of Christ, Walkersville, MD officiating. Interment will be in Edge Hill Cemetery, Charles Town.
