Death
Clifton "Dick" Furr, 83, of Front Royal died Wednesday at Lynn Care Center in Front Royal. The funeral will be held Saturday at 11:30 a.m. at Maddox Funeral Home in Front Royal. Burial will be private. Mr. Furr was born Feb. 14, 1925, in Upperville, son of the late Charlie Norris and Lula Carter Furr. He was an Army veteran, farmer and horse trainer. Surviving are three daughters, Samantha Furr of Star Tannery, Barbara Hartsell and Carol Taylor, both of Front Royal; a son, Richard "Dickie" Furr of Front Royal; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends Saturday from 11 to 11:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Resident Council Fund at Lynn Care Center, 1000 N.
