Otto Reed, colored, of Bluemont, is being held in the jail at Leesburg charged with assault and attempt to kill Buckner Furr, 45, also of Bluemont. Furr, who is a horse trainer, and Reed are both employed on the farm of George' Pilaster, near Bluemont. Furr was found at the Pflaster barn on Sunday morning in an unconscious condition. He was taken to his home and is reported to be somewhat improved. Reed claims that he and Furr had some altercations early Saturday night and that he struck Furr back of the head. Furr, so far has made no statement to authorities as to how the trouble occurred.

Death
Moses Buckner Furr, aged 49 years, died suddenly at his home on the mountain above Bluemont Monday morning following an attack of asthma about three hours before his death. He had been a sufferer from asthma for many years, but his condition was not considered serious and he was busy caring for a son, Clayton Furr, who had been critically ill for some time when he was suddenly stricken. He was a son of the late William and Margaret Furr. His wife, Mrs. Susie Chappelle Furr, two sons, Clayton and Allen Furr, at home and two daughters Mrs. Irene Hummer and Mrs. Ollie Neff of Washington, one brother, Charles Furr, also of Washington, three sisters, Mrs. Virginia Stickles of Baltimore, Mrs. Rose Thompson and Mrs. Lillie Armstrong of Bluemont, survive. Funeral services were held from the Berryville Methodist Church Wednesday morning with interment in Green Hill Cemetery at Berryville.The Blue Ridge Herald, Purcellville, Virginia, March 24, 1932
