Death
With the sudden passing Sunday night at his home at Bloomfield of John Furr, Loudoun County loses a most exemplary citizen. Mr. Furr had been in failing health for more than a year, but recent treatment at the Winchester Memorial Hospital had resulted in such marked improvement that his ultimate recovery seemed assured, but death came unexpectedly. Funeral services were conducted at the Furr home on Tuesday afternoon by the Rev. Mr. Gregory, pastor of the Upperville Methodist Church and burial was made in Ebenezer Cemetery at Bloomfield. These friends acted as pallbearers for Mr. Furr: E. L. Robey, Charles Pearson, Rodney Furr, Herman Poston, Steve Williams and Clarence Carbaugh. Mr. Furr is survived by his wife, the former Miss Maggie Palmer, and one brother.Blue Ridge Herald, April 18, 1940
