SHELBYVILLE - Clyde W. Furr, 81, of Decatur, formerly of Phoenix, AZ and Shelbyville, died at 3:40 a.m. Wednesday, November 10, 2004 in Decatur Memorial Hospital. Services will be conducted at a later date following cremation. Howe & Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Furr was born on May 16, 1923 in Shelbyville, the son of Charles Allen and Marjorie C. Reid Furr. He graduated from Tower Hill High School in the Class of 1941. He then attended Sparks Business College in Shelbyville before graduating from Millikin University in Decatur. He was a veteran of WW II serving in the Army Air Corps. He was an accountant for a company in Phoenix, AZ that manufactured concrete irrigation pipe. He was a member of the SERTOMA Club in Decatur and Phoenix, AZ. He married Frances D. Drysdale on March 16, 1944. Surviving are his wife, Frances; brother, Russell A. Furr and wife Lavonne of Roanoke; sister, Catherine Gaston and husband Charles of Iowa Park, TX; step-brother, Robert K. Simpson and wife Wilma of Urbana; step-sister, Maridell Bartscht and husband Charles of Shelbyville; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
