Elizabeth Johanna Furr, 90, of Loveland, died Oct. 9, 2000, at her home.
She was born Aug. 4, 1910, in Merna, Neb., to Henry Leo and Anna Marie Stueter Wehling. She married Charles Glen Furr on Aug. 16, 1932, in Cheyenne Wells, Colo. He preceded her in death on Feb. 15, 1961. Mrs. Furr worked as a baker at the Dutch Oven Bakery for 11 years. She also owned and operated Aunt Lizzie's Worn Farm for 20 years. She was a nurse's aide at Sierra Vista Health Care Center for three years, retiring in the late 1960s. She was a former resident of Wellington and had lived in Loveland for the past 58 years. She was a member of St. John's Catholic Church and did volunteer work for the Philomatheon Club. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, canning and was an avid reader. Mrs. Furr is survived by a son, Alphonsus Furr and wife Lee of Lodi, Calif.; four daughters, Henrietta Bunte and husband John, Mary Wilkerson and Evelyn Cavan, all of Loveland, and Alberta Winslow and husband Jack of Denver; 15 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister. Recitation of the Rosary will be 7 p.m. Thursday at Allnutt-Hunter Chapel. At the family's request, the casket will be closed. Services will be 11 a.m. Friday at St. John's Catholic Church, with the Rev. Jude Geilenkirchen celebrant. Burial will be in Resthaven Memory Gardens, north of Loveland. Memorial contributions may be made to the Northern Catholic Charities in care of Allnutt-Hunter Chapel.
