Death
Services for Harry Furr, 80, of Wooster, survived by Newark residents, will be 1:30 p.m. Saturday in the McIntire Funeral Home, Wooster, with burial to follow in Wooster Cemetery. Mr. Furr died Wednesday evening in the Horn Nursing Home, Wooster. He was born Sept. 3, 1895, in Rutherford, W.Va., to the late Lemeul and Lucinda (James) Furr. He was an oil and gas shooter for 49 years, a WWI veteran of the 37th Division Army in Belgium, Ebanezer Lodge 33, F&AM of Wooster and a member of the Oil and Gas Mens Association. Surviving are his widow, Sylvia (Hollett) Furr; two daughters: Mrs. Thelma (Marie) Gerberick of Newark and Mrs. Oliver (Betty Jean) Ring of Seve, Ohio; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. One son, a brother and two sisters are dead. Friends may call from 7 to 9 tonight in the funeral home.The Newark Advocate, Newark, Ohio, October 17, 1975
