Furr, Barbara Lynn . . . or "Fuzzy"... born October 14th... Nashville, TN... stands 5'1"... hails to WPHS from Ketterlinus High in St. Augustine... pet peeve is when a girl asks a boy out when the event is not a girl bid... after high school plans are to attend the University of Tennessee or the University of Louisville.

Happiest memory: Graduation! No, probably the sock hops and dances after our wonderful football games and the pajama parties (all girls). See how things have changed!
Bio: Graduated from University of Tennessee Dental Hygiene School in 1963. Married Dr. Richard Hammett in 1965. Moved to Venice, FL, and had two sons. Worked as a hygienist, community and church work until I 'retired' and started playing at real estate until it became a seven-day-a-week job.
Future plans and goals: Pull back work-wise, and enjoy life. Get back into tennis and golf.

Update on my life in the last 10 years. Everything normal...we built a new home on the water just minutes from being in the Gulf of Mexico. This is wonderful as my husband, Richard, loves to fish and play golf. He is a retired dentist as of five years ago and we are best friends so his retirement has been wonderful.
Six years ago this June I went into the hospital for a simple procedure to snip adhesions that were causing terrible pain when the bowel got twisted (for lack of better word). This had been going on for three years and nothing showed up until I went to the emergency room during one of these attacks...thus finding adhesions. During surgery my bowel was nicked but not detected. I became septic and went into what is called ARDS (adult respiratory distress syndrone). I was in a coma for 3 months, 2 more weeks in hospital and in a nursing home for 6 weeks. It was slow going for a long time as I had to learn to walk, talk (didn't take long!) dress myself, etc.
Thank God . . . and I give Him the glory for saving my life. Richard, my family and friends were wonderful. I could spend hours telling you how great they were. And my Pulmonalogist was on the cutting edge of his specialty or I may have lost limbs due to blood vessel damage. They were afraid I would have brain damage, or I would be blind or deaf. The first thing I was able to communicate to Richard was I asked him if he had paid the flood insurance!! Everyone laughed and said I was ok. I have just continued to improve over the years and you would never recognize me from the 81 pound lump I was 5 years ago. Thank you, God! My disability keeps me from golf, tennis, boating, beaching and other things, BUT I CAN STILL SHOP!!!!
I have two wonderful sons. Trey is 34 and just been married two months ago to a beautiful, smart woman that is in the convention planning business. They just bought a new (old '26) house in Atlanta and all is well with them.
Chuck (33) and Bobbi have been married for 5 years . . . no children yet but they are working on it. She is head of child development facility in Tallahassee, but aspires to being mother and wife. They are building a new house so life is good. Both guys are self-employed and doing well. At least they are not calling for money.
We have been going to California in the summers for my health . . . we are extending our stay to 4 months (maybe too long) but friends come visit which is wonderful. I am getting back into volunteer work, bridge, churchwork, and I read a lot . . . am in a book club that has advanced my quality of reading . . . but every once in a while I have to read a "beach" book that is mindless.
