Death
Burial services for Fenton Furr, 71, former Loudoun County resident, were held Wednesday morning at Ebenezer Cemetery, near Bluemont. Mr. Furr died December 24 at Emergency Hospital, Washington, following injuries received in a traffic accident in Washington on December 17. At that time, Mr. Furr, a pedestrian, suffered a fractured skull when struck by a car. He had been a resident of Washington for a number of years. Mr. Furr was born at Mountain View Farm, Loudoun County, and was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Furr. He graduated from Randolph-Macon College and after teaching school for two years in Loudoun County, he went to Washington. There he joined the Railway Mail service in which he worked until his retirement several years ago. At his retirement, he was specially commended by Postmaster General James A. Farley. Mr. Furr is survived by six brothers and five sisters. The brothers are: H. R. and Carlton H. Furr, Norfolk, Va.; Lester T. Furr, Atlanta, Ga.; Guy L. Furr, Roanoke; William J. Furr, Bowling Green, and Blakely H. Furr, Round Hill. The sisters are Mrs. E. F. Nelson and Mrs. G. C. Morgan, Washington; Mrs. C. W. Thomas, Paeonian Springs; Mrs. J. J. Kottinger, San Francisco, Calif., and Mrs. E. C. Dishman, Warrenton.The Loudoun News, Leesburg, Virginia, December 29, 1949
