A well known Washington singer dies after a short illness. Mrs Mary Agnes Fadeley , the well know contralto who for several years has been identified with the principal local musical events which have occurred in this city died last night at her residence after an illness of only three days duration. On Monday night Mrs. Fadeley indiscreetly sat for several hours in a room without a fire and contracted a severe cold that confined her to bed .Her illness was not considered serious and yesterday afternoon she herself laughed at . Around 5 o'clock she was seized with a congestive chill and though every effort was made to relieve her she grew rapidly worse and died about eight o'clock. Her husband Mr. Edward B Fadeley had not even thought of his wife's illness as having a fatal termination was prostrated with grief.During her life in the city Mrs. Fadeley had been quite distinguished in musical circles. She received her training at Wesleyan Female Institue in Stauton Virginia. Mrs. Fadely was the daughter of the late Moses Buckner Furr and Mary Catherine Anderson , she is survived by her husband Edward B Fadeley and a son Howard Malone Fadeley and his wife Georgia she was preceded in death by son Edward and daughter Mary Lee.Endnotes
