Death
Robert Lewis Holeman, 83, of Jonesboro, AR., died Wednesday, Sept. 7, 2005, at St. Bernard's Medical Center. Born at Roseville, Ill., he lived in the Chicago area before moving to Arkansas in 1956. He moved to Jonesboro in 2000. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. He operated Holeman Pump Service for several years in Lawrence County and was the retired postmaster at Black Rock. He was a member of the American Legion and the Retired Postmasters' Association. He was of the Methodist faith. Survivors include his wife, Anna Holeman of the home; one son, Richard Holeman of Jonesboro; four daughters, Joanne McCracken of Garfield, Ilo Delo of Helena, Mont., Rebecca Louise Riley of Burlington, Iowa, and Rita Hicks of Jonesboro; two sisters, Virginia Henry of Burlington and Katherine Metcalfe of Oakville, Iowa; 12 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Robert Lewis Holeman Jr., and a brother, Marshall Holeman. Funeral services were at Emerson Memorial Chapel. Burial was in McDaniel Cemetery.Endnotes
