Death

FLANDREAU - Henry L. Bell, 92, died Friday, June 26, 1998, at Flandreau Municipal Hospital. Mr. Bell was born Sept. 24, 1905, on a farm in Moody County, where he was raised and graduated from Smith School. He then attended the School of Agriculture in Brookings and began farming. He married Aileen Furr on Sept. 28, 1926, in Brookings. They farmed for 40 years. In 1981 they moved into Flandreau, where he was active on many local boards. His wife died Dec. 11, 1988. He married Grace Nold on June 20, 1992, in Flandreau. He was a trustee and elder at Second Presbyterian Church and a member of the United Methodist Church in Flandreau. In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son, Harold of Denver; two daughters: Dorothy Bell of Sioux Falls and Marlys Britton of Merrill, Iowa; two stepdaughters: Marcella Hauswald of Sioux Falls and Carol Gillespie of Lake Tahoe, Calif.; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and one sister, Grace Ausen of Jasper, Minn. Services begin at 2 p.m. Monday at United Methodist Church in Flandreau, with burial in Union Cemetery in Flandreau. Visitation begins at 11 a.m. Sunday at Skroch Funeral Chapel in Flandreau, with the family present from 7 to 8 p.m.
