Death
Jay C. Furr, 76, of Oneida died Saturday at 1:40 p.m. at Galesburg Cottage Hospital, where he was a patient two months. He was born July 22, 1891, at Parker, S. D., and moved to Monmouth as a child. He also lived in Kirkwood and Altona and for the last 10 years at Oneida. He worked as a farm laborer all his life. He was a member of the Oneida Methodist Church, where he was on the Board of Stewards and was custodian for the last 10 years. He was a veteran of World War I and a member of American Legion Post 727 of Oneida. Surviving are four sisters, Mrs. L. R. Irwin of Swan Creek, Mrs. John Sago of Billings, Mont., Mrs. Alice Morris of Galesburg and Miss Emma Furr of Oneida. Funeral services will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Oneida Methodist Church. Burial will be in Oneida Cemetery. Visitation will be this evening at the Hendricks Funeral Home.Galesburg Register Mail, Galesburg, Illinois, January 8, 1968
