Funeral services for the late Mrs. George S. Furr, who died early Sunday morning at the home of her son, Edward Furr, on Bollingbrooke Farm, near Upperville, were held Tuesday afternoon at 2 o’clock from her son’s home, the Rev. Mr. Dugger, pastor of the Rectortown Methodist Church, of which the deceased was a member, officiating. Mrs. Furr, whose husband preceded her to the grave many years ago, had made her home for the past 14 years with her son, Edward. She was 86 years of age at the time of her death. Surviving her are six daughters, Mrs. Preston Nolls and Mrs. Raymond Nolls, Rectortown, Mrs. E. P. Leach, Warrenton, Mrs. Lou Furr and Mrs. Will Allison, The Plains, and Mrs. Lyon Soapher, Broad Run; four sons, Messrs. Edward and Johnnie Furr, Upperville, William Furr, The Plains, and Charlie Furr, Rectortown. Three children preceded her to the grave. She is also survived by 64 grandchildren and 41 great-grandchildren. Pallbearers at the funeral services were William Nolls, Charlie Furr, Welby and Frank Leach, and Jake and Dick Allison. Flower girls were Misses Douglas Furr, Gladys and Mabel Nolls, Virginia and Mabel Furr, Ruth Conard, Genetta Williams, and Nannie Allison.Northern Virginia Daily, Strasburg, Virginia, November 15, 1935
