Death
Scy D. Cain, 69, died Sunday afternoon, July 17, at 1:00 p.m. He was born March 19, 1886, in Wirt County, a son of Richard and Sarah Twyman Cain, and had lived at Walker about 20 years where he was a member of the Ross Memorial Seventh Day Adventist Church. He was employed 13 years by the American Viscose Corp. and also worked 19 years for the State Road Commission, retiring a year and a half ago because of ill health. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Christine Ross Cain, of Walker; four sons, Walden Cain of Vienna, Neville and Orville Cain, both of Walker, and Willard Cain at home; two daughters, Mrs. Dorothy L. Deskins of Vienna, and Mrs. Donna Dell Porter of Chillicothe, O.; two brothers, Charles Cain of Kanawha, and Arthur Cain of Wheeling; four sisters, Honor Cain and Bess Steed, both of Akron, O., Otsie Tennant of Wheeling, and Myrtle Franklin of Newark; 19 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at the Seventh Day Adventist Church, Parkersburg, with Elder C.V. Leach officiating. Burial was in the Kanawha Baptist Cemetery. Franklin Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.Endnotes
