Death
The Rev. Clarence Trenum, 49, formerly of Westernport, died suddenly today at this home in Fairmont, W.Va. Rev. Mr. Trenum had been transferred to Trinity Tabernacle Church in Fairmont, three weeks ago from Middletown, Ohio. Born in Franklin, he was a son of the late Benjamin Trenum and Mrs. Sarah Keyes of Piedmont. Rev. Mr. Trenum, who was nicknamed, "Socko", was a standout boxer in the district in the 1920s, and had been a minister for the past 25 years. Surviving, in addition to his mother, are his widow, Mrs. Edna Marie (Metcalfe) Trenum; nine sons, Clarence Trenum, Warrenton, Va.; Donald, Norman, Fitzhugh, and Raymond Trenum, all of Middletown, Ohio; David Trenum, Franklin, Ohio; and Gilbert, Ronald, and Garry Trenum, all of Fairmont; a half-brother, Gene Keyes, also of Piedmont; and four sisters, Mrs. Bernadette McGoye, Mrs. Dorothy Harvey, Mrs. Mary Catherine Ashenfelter, and Mrs. Charlotte Jackson, all of Piedmont. The body is at the residence at 718 Delaware Street in Fairmont, and services will be conducted at the Trinity Tabernacle Church tomorrow at 11 a.m. The body will then be taken to the Boal Funeral Home in Westernport.
