Death
ALGER - Mrs. Ettie Gossard, 72, Alger, died at 4:30 a.m. Monday in the home of a daughter, Mrs. Effie Houx, Alger, with whom she had made her home. She had been ill several years, and seriously ill the last three weeks. A native of Allen County, she was a lifelong resident of this community. She was a member of the First Methodist Church. Her husband, Franey Gossard, died 13 years ago. Surviving, besides her daughter, are two sons, Claude, Ada; Gaylord, 626 Harrison Ave.; 10 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a brother, Ezra Shivley, Dallas, Tex. The body will remain in the Hanson Funeral Home, Alger, where friends may call after 2 p.m. Tuesday. The body will be removed to the Methodist Church at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday for services at 2:30 p.m. The Rev. Arthur Oliver will officiate and burial will be in Preston Cemetery.The Lima News, Lima, Ohio, August 22, 1955
