Death

Died, at her home in Salvisa, July 25, at 5 o'clock, p.m., Mrs. Annie E., wife of Dr. W. C. Nelson, in the 59th year of her age. Although born and reared in Woodford county, she has indeed been "one of us" since her marriage to Dr. Nelson more than thirty years ago. To know her was to love her, as she possessed the happy faculty of endearing herself to all with whom she came in contact. Two years ago, a tumor was removed from her breast, and since that time she has been a constant and extremely great sufferer, the pain being so intense that the tall stately form was reduced to a living skeleton. We thank the blessed Christ, who, in this, as in every other instance, made good his precious promise to "be a present help in time of need," and who gave her grace, not only to bear, but to bear patiently the refining fire through which she must needs pass to be fitted for a residence in that "city not made with hands, eternal in the heavens." After funeral services, conducted by Rev. W. T. Eklar, pastor of M. E. church, of which deceased had been a member many years, the remains were laid to rest in Spring Hill cemetery, Harrodsburg.
