Notes
Death
Dr. William Cowper Nelson died at his home in Salvisa Sunday evening at six o'clock, aged sixty-seven. He had been in failing health for sometime, and his death was not entirely unexpected. The funeral services were conducted at the family residence at 10 o'clock Tuesday morning, and the remains were brought to this place about 12 o'clock, where they were interred in Spring Hill cemetery. The services was conducted by Rev. Green, of the Baptist church at Salvisa, where Dr. Nelson had been for years a faithful and devout member. The deceased was one of the best known men in the county and was held in the highest esteem by all who knew him. He comes of a family of physicians, and was one of the most prominent practitioners in the Salvisa neighborhood. He was a splendid Christian gentleman, and his death is a loss to the community where he lived. Besides his wife he is survived by three children, Miss Bettie Nelson, Mrs. Walker Clelland, of this place, and Mr. William Nelson, of Louisville. Dr. Nelson was an Odd Fellow and that order conducted services at the grave.Harrodsburg Herald, 21 Dec 1905, (Thank you, Anne)
