Death
Effie E. Barker, 90, Covington Manor Nursing Home, Covington, died at 12:45 p.m. September 15, 1991, at Community Hospital, Williamsport. She was born January 16, 1901, in Chatsworth, Illinois, the daughter of George Edgar and Blanche Elizabeth Palmer Simpkins. She was married August 9, 1919 in Covington, to Glen Cliston Barker. He preceded in death in 1954. Surviving are: two daughters, Velma Graves, Cates, Thelma Wells, Veedersburg; three sons, Austin, Attica, Harrel Lee, Hayward, California, Bob G., Veedersburg; 12 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers, one sister, and one grandson. Funeral services were held at the Dickerson Funeral Home, Veedersburg, at 2 p.m. Wednesday with Pastor Max Paddock officiating. Burial was in Bonebrake Cemetery.Star Tribune, September 20, 1991
